Our Place Exhibition Opening at VISUAL Carlow as part of Carlow Arts Festival

We are delighted to share that Our Place is exhibiting at this year’s Carlow Arts Festival. Join us for the opening at VISUAL Carlow 28 May!

Our Place is a long-term, socially engaged art project, led by artists AlanJames Burns and Sinead McCann, with Our Place leaders Patrick Fitzgerald and Tony Davis, alongside collaborating artists supported by Delta Centre Day Service, Carlow.

Sharing their stories, Our Place Carlow have co-created a new installation for VISUAL Carlow, commissioned by Carlow Arts Festival. The project champions the human rights of people living with intellectual disabilities, placing the ideas, talents and lived experiences at the heart of art-making and exhibition design.

Everyone is welcome in Our Place. Experience an immersive sound and light exhibition that playfully explores themes of human rights, happiness and belonging. Sensory areas are designed within the gallery, featuring vibroacoustic seating for groups and individuals. Lámh, captions and audio descriptions are an embedded feature of the artwork.
